Dutch Canal Houses and their History
Dutch canal houses have various types of gables, such as the clock, staircase, spout, moulding, raised moulding and neck gable. The houses were mainly built along the canals in Amsterdam, hence the name canal houses
KLM Houses
In 1952, the Dutch airline KLM began giving away a miniature Delftware canal house filled with Jenever to Business Class passengers. The collection now consists of more than 100 different houses. The so-called KLM houses are very popular with collectors, especially if they are still originally filled.
